German-Indian Cultural Highlight in Karlsruhe

Music knows no boundaries—and on Monday, June 22, 2026, everyone will be able to hear and feel that for themselves starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Stadtkirche in Karlsruhe. The extraordinary concert “Kein Weg zu weit” is a true highlight of this year’s “India Weeks Karlsruhe.”

Connecting Through Music and Dance

It is an encounter through music and dance that transcends national borders: On this evening (free admission, donations welcome), German choral tradition and Indian zest for life merge into a unique work of art. You’ll experience international choral music at the very highest level when the renowned “Ulmer Spatzen Chor” takes the stage alongside the top Indian youth choir “The Singing Tree.” The latter hails from the “Mehli Mehta Music Foundation” in Mumbai, founded by world-renowned conductor Zubin Mehta, which has been committed to music education in India and international cultural exchange for decades. 

Personal Connection to India

Choir director Salome Rebello, who co-founded “The Singing Tree” in Mumbai about 20 years ago—and has been directing the “Ulmer Spatzen Chor” in Germany since 2023—creates a special personal connection between the ensembles. In this way, she unites both choirs not only musically, but also on a personal and cultural level.

As a special visual highlight, the “Tanzakademie Nisari Kalakshetra” from Mannheim will bring captivating elements of classical Indian dance to the stage, with choreography developed exclusively for this evening in Karlsruhe. The audience can thus look forward to a diverse program featuring international choral music, classical and modern arrangements, and elements of Indian dance. 

Focus on Intercultural Exchange

The concert is also an emotional reunion of young artists who formed deep friendships after traveling together to India in 2024: Young, dynamic, and open-minded, this evening showcases how music and dance connect people across continents, bringing them into a creative dialogue that will enchant the audience with its pure energy.
